Member Spotlight: Coach Hess, Coach Hess LLC

Can you tell us a little about the history of your business?


In 2015, while serving as the Chief Advisor for Cloud Services at Halliburton, Greg was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His battle with the disease only strengthened his resolve, and during his recovery, he decided to commit fully to his lifelong role as a mentor by becoming a professional business coach. Since then, he has run a thriving coaching practice, leveraging his vast experience to guide and inspire others in their professional journeys.


What inspired you to start this business and how has your vision evolved over time?


When diagnosed with pancreatic cancer I received an overwhelming number of messages from those I had served in the past and realized that I had reached and positively influenced many in my life. I attribute my survival to being watched over by a higher power and therefore made the commitment to dedicate the rest of my life to doing what I have been successful doing all my life.

Experience, compassion and a comprehensive program customized to each business and their personnel resulting in success and growth across the board.


How has being a member of the Chamber of Commerce benefited your business?


As a Business Coach I am grateful for the Chamber of Commerce as it has provided opportunities to fulfill my mission and why. Attending networking events and helping new businesses in the community connect and build alliances.


In what ways do you engage with the local community?


Through the Katy Rotary Club I am involved in coordinating, fund raising, volunteering and distributing significant funds to our community. Love to shake hands and greet people to your stellar community.


What advice would you give to new business owners considering joining the Chamber?


Join with a strategy and plan. Make sure you engage in events and get to know other members. You can't do it on your own and there is a wealth of resources available to leverage in growing your business and self.


What do you believe has been the key to your business's success so far?


100% alignment with my why and what I do. Fulfillment in my life has come from giving assists and that is exactly what has made my business and life successful.


Can you tell us about a product or service you're particularly proud of?


The three offerings are 1 on 1 Coaching, Empower Your Team and GrowthCLUB. Each of these provide avenues for fulfilling full potential both individually and company wide.


How do you stay ahead in a competitive market?


Recent publication of Peak Experiences has proven to be an advantage. Once you are an author people tend to see you as more of an expert. Best business card I have ever had. In order to write a book - you need to read a great deal of material. Creating a constant growing learning curve. And at 69 years old I will state that you are never too old to learn and apply new knowledge.


What does excellent customer service mean to you?


The customer experience is when you create The WOW Factor by going beyond what is expected and even appreciated. Proactive personal touch points improve retention and referrals. Consistency is key.


What has been the most memorable customer interaction you’ve had?


Working with clients to recognize that they can be whoever they want to be. Then watching them flourish with a growth mindset.


What’s the most rewarding part of running your business?


Have an impact on improving the world by working with individuals with big dreams and a desire to make positive changes.
