The KTX Window Cleaning Journey to America’s Top 100 Small Businesses
Through the Glass: The KTX Window Cleaning Journey to America’s Top 100 Small Businesses
Katy, TX – September 2025 | The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has named KTX Window Cleaning, LLC one of America’s Top 100 Small Businesses and a Top 10 Customer Champion for 2025; honoring small business owners who embody perseverance, service, and heart.
For owners Olivia and Kyle Martin, that recognition represents far more than business growth. It’s a symbol of faith, family, and a community that believed in them — even when the road wasn’t easy.
From One Ladder to Leadership
As shared in Community Impact Katy & Fulshear, KTX Window Cleaning began in 2018 with a ladder, a bucket, and a vision, not just to clean glass, but to build a company that reflected the values they lived by: Safety, Excellence, Respect, Values, Integrity, Customer Service, and Efficiency.
Olivia and Kyle started small, just the two of them and a few loyal customers who took a chance on a new local business. They worked out of their garage, often putting in 12-hour days under the Texas sun. There were months when storms, setbacks, or slow seasons made things uncertain. But through it all, their belief never wavered: if they stayed true to their values, success would follow.
“We’ve poured everything into this — not just our work, but our hearts,” Olivia shared. “This award feels like a reflection of every late night, every early morning, and every customer who cheered us on when we were just getting started.”
Seven Years, Countless Lessons
Over the past seven years, KTX has grown from a husband-and-wife team to a full crew of trained technicians serving homes and commercial properties across Katy, Fulshear, and West Houston.
That journey included weathering the 2020 shutdowns, a devastating hurricane, and rebuilding after challenges that tested every ounce of resilience. But it also included incredible milestones, loyal customers who became friends, partnerships through the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, and a growing reputation for reliability and excellence.
As covered by My Neighborhood News Katy & Fulshear, KTX’s story is one of persistence and purpose, showing what happens when a business builds its foundation on community, not just contracts.
Community is the Cornerstone
Even as the company expanded, KTX never lost sight of its “why.” Giving back is part of the DNA, from volunteering with local nonprofits to launching the KTX Blue Towel Mission, a nonprofit that provides free home maintenance for elderly homeowners through the resale of repurposed hospital towels.
Where sustainability meets service — and compassion becomes action.
At KTX Window Cleaning, we’ve always believed business should be about more than profit; it should be about people. Over the years, we’ve been blessed to serve the Katy and West Houston community, meeting incredible homeowners, business owners, and neighbors who have supported our journey from a two-person startup to a nationally recognized small business.
But as our company grew, so did our awareness of something bigger, a need we couldn’t ignore. The KTX Blue Towel Mission was born from a simple idea: that what’s considered “disposable” by one industry could become a lifeline for another.
In hospitals like Houston Methodist West, thousands of high-quality textiles; used during medical procedures are discarded every day. These textiles have served a purpose of healing. We saw an opportunity to continue that purpose in a new way.
Instead of going to waste, these towels are redirected to fund and help serve local seniors and disabled homeowners who can no longer afford to maintain their homes safely.
The KTX Blue Towel Mission exists to:
- Reduce waste by giving new life to high-quality hospital textiles.
- Support elderly and disabled homeowners with free home upkeep services.
- Connect businesses, hospitals, and volunteers in a shared mission of compassion.
Every towel collected funds or fuels acts of service, from washing windows and clearing gutters to ensuring that seniors in our community can stay safely in their homes. It’s a full-circle approach: sustainability meets service, and small actions add up to lasting change.
This mission wouldn’t be possible without incredible partners like Houston Methodist West Hospital, who believe in the power of collaboration and community stewardship. Their willingness to see beyond the norm to ask, “What more can this material do?” is what makes the Blue Towel Mission thrive.
Together, we’re showing that innovation doesn’t always mean technology sometimes it means compassion.
Olivia also co-founded Women of Katy, along side, Stacy Jacobs Vice President of Business Development at the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, Women of Katy creates quarterly programs that provides scholarships and resources for women pursuing education or career growth. For her, business isn’t just about profit, it’s about purpose.
As highlighted in the Katy Times, this kind of leadership; service-driven, grounded, and authentic; is exactly why KTX earned a spot among the Top 100 Small Businesses in the Nation.
A Clearer View of the Future
Today, KTX Window Cleaning stands not just as a company, but as a testament to what hard work, faith, and community can build. Every technician is trained in-house, fully insured, and empowered to uphold the standards that built KTX from the ground up.
And while awards and recognition are humbling, what means the most to the Martins is knowing they’ve made a difference — in homes, in hearts, and in their hometown.
“This isn’t just our story,” Olivia said. “It’s Katy’s story. It’s what happens when people come together, believe in something bigger than themselves, and work with integrity every single day.”
